Ingredients We Love: Sea Buckthorn Oil, Argan Oil, and Coconut Oil
We are constantly in search of the most natural, beneficial, and effective ingredients, and sometimes our journey leads us to some bizarre sounding ingredients. Like last week’s licorice root extract or this week’s sea buckthorn oil. Its name certainly doesn’t seem very glamorous, but we guarantee after you learn about it, you’ll wonder why you don’t see it listed as an ingredient more often.
SEA BUCKTHORN OIL (Hippophae Rhamnoides)
From the berry of the spiny Sea Buckthorn shrub native to Siberia, Sea Buckthorn Oil is best known for its nourishing, revitalizing and restorative properties. It is full of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and Vitamins A & C, which helps to reverse and soothe the damaging effects of the sun. It is also aids in relieving inflammation, dryness, and burns, and works to minimize the signs of aging like dark spots and wrinkles.
Why We Love It: Buckthorn Oil is similar to Tamanu Oil in the sense that it is a superior product for balancing the skin. It also has fantastic anti-inflammatory properties.

COCONUT OIL (Cocos Nucifera)
Having been used for centuries in traditional Indian medicine, Coconut Oil has many skincare benefits because of its high levels of lauric acid and its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil is also extremely moisturizing, soothing, and helps to prevent the premature signs of aging, making it a great alternative to mineral oil.
Why We Love It: Coconut Oil is a great "carrier" for our products and gives them a silky, smooth, luxurious feel.
ARGAN OIL (Argania Spinosa Kernel Oi)
Also known as Moroccan green gold,
Argan Oil is said to be the rarest oil in the world. In a lengthy, week long
process, the oil is extracted from the seeds of the Argania Spinosa Tree’s fruits,
which is grown in the desert of Morocco. The oil is extremely abundant in unsaturated
fatty acids, linoleic acid, and Vitamin E, making it a great product for
hydration and to neutralize free radicals, which helps slow the aging process. It also has a natural sebum regulating action that balances the skin's oil production, alleviating oily skin.
Why We Love It: Argan Oil has great hydrating and antimicrobial properties. We have even had customers remark that it has done wonders to alleviate signs and symptoms of eczema and psoriasis.
